Q7) Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel like you have learnt in the proggression from it to the film product?

Analysis

For this question I did a Vlog about my experiences and what I have learnt though out this year for our media project. I was really nervous, when recording and I had to to keep redoing it as sometimes the audio cut out.

I talked about my the proggress I have gone through the process of the Sweded film, Continuity task and Opening title sequence;

  • From the Nightmare soundtrack - I have learnt how songtracks can reflect characters situations, as the nightmare soundtracks, is surposed to show the lumberjack's loneliness and how solemn he is. And how you can still be expressive in sound, even with one instrument.

  • From the Dark blues soundtrack - I have learnt how to write a soundtrack for a scene, and even a soundscape to a film. And how to focus on the narrative and atmosphere when composing the soundtrack.

  • Costumes and props - I have learnt to focus and stick with the style of the scenes, and use props to give a realistic look. As when we filmed our test footage, we didn't use any props, for example,  we didn't realise that we needed to make the lumberjack's home in ruins, so Jack and Fabian filmed it again using the props, I brought, make the room suit the character and give a realistic approach.

  • Overall - I have learnt alot in this process, mainly in sound and audio, which helps, as even I do A level music as well as, I think this product gave me an understanding to how sound can be shown, to give a mood / atmosphere, es[pecially in the film industry.
