Q1) In what ways does your media product use, develope or challenge forms and conventions of real meal product?

For this question I've descided to present my work as a prezi, as I feel like it is a bit more interractive and to give my work a bit of variety.

Here I have mentioned the ways that our media product suits a film noir and an opening title sequence;

  • Actors - Our cast are young caucassian characters, this is due to people who we had availible at the time and also to suit a traditional film noir dating back the 1950s, to show resemblance to older film noirs. the main protagonist is the Lumberjack, we wanted to recreate the everyman in the 1950s to the every man in the time period of the modern age.

  • Form - Our film noir follows the enigma form, as I think this represents a good way to interest the audience, as it leads the audience into the narrative, which is what I think an opening title sequence should do.

  • Dialogue - I think the dialogue gives a modernised feel to the film noir style, as jack's narration sounds linguistically the same as a the younger generation in the 21st century.

  • Soundtrack - The first soundtrack (Nightmare), I don't think grabs the audience's attention that well for an opening title sequence , it is a bit more subtle., how I think it suits the character well. However I think the Dark blues track will interest the audience as it builds up tension, despite not being too dramatic and still suiting the generic features of blues. I think it works better as an opening title sequence soundtrack

  • Lighting - I think that the lighting suits an opening title sequence for a film noir, as you can see parts where the lighting is used in the bad wolf's room, resembles a traditional film noir lighting. However I wouldn't say that the scenes with the lumberjack, resembles a film noirs lighting, as all natural lighiting was used to give a open outdoors feel.

  • Titles - I think the titles relate to an opening title sequence, as they foreshadow/suggest what will happen in the narrative. Which is what ours does it suggests a death taking place.
